so the story goes... been using streetpilot 3 for 18 months in car and on bike no problems... change computer and load city navigator 7 onto new computer, have to download an update from garmin as its so old...now have maps on screen and all seems fine, I want to transfer a likkle route I have planned onto the memory card via the garmin supplied data programmer, transfer updated maps accross no problem but cant get waypoints and route to appear on sat nav unit. If I open up a blank map on PC and pull data off the card its there plain as day but when installed in satnav it says no waypoints or routes present.... have emailed Garmin for enlightenment but wondering if anyone here has bright ideas on what I am doing wrong... Yes Fiasco its the same one I had problems with when I bought it... if only I had left it alone and not tried to make it better... Any sensible suggestions much appreciated... appreciate that may be asking a bit much of you lot Chris

have you unchecked the turn off after transfer tab ;D
they can turn off before the download is complete
if its any help, only maps are downloaded onto the data card, routs and waypoints download into the internal memory

;D Mr Penfold you are a thorough Gent! Have an exalt on me! Its been 12 months+ since I wanted to download routes and had completely forgotten the cable to connect direct to unit!!! It was hiding in a drawer at the back of the shed since my house move in Sept last... Then just had to find the software so new computer recognised USB/serial converter and hey presto all working Garmins response was slower than yours and just said routes and waypoints must be transferred to internal memory... helpful then ! NOT! Cheers Ian
