Does anyone know, off the top of there head, what resistance reading I should be getting across the white/red and white/green wire from the pick up coil? Thanks.

When testing for continuity, should there be constant continuity when there is metal near or on the magnetic part of the pick up?
I put a multimeter with sound, across the terminals of the plug and placed a screwdriver on the magnet, but the multimeter only sounds for a split second as I pull the screwdriver away.
Then when I re-fit the switch back next to the ignition timing disc, and turn the crank by hand, there is no sound from the multimeter, around any part of the timing disc.
Is this correct, or does it point to the pick up coil being knackered?

Does sound a bit iffy to me but I've never had cause to check one. I reckon your best bet is to find a friendly local with a working 900 and ask them if you can measure the various voltages. Does the Haynes manual give any clues? I know it does for the charger.
