Come and enjoy the delights of Hampshire, along with possibly some West Sussex and/or Dorset ! It's been a long time since I've been on a Divvy club run, so I'm going to actually arrange one. The plan is to do a short bimble on the Saturday for those that are staying over and fancy it - probably a trundle to the new forest with an ice cream stop, not more than 2-3 hours The run proper on Sunday will start from a point yet to be determined, and follow a route that is also to be determined. There will be a couple of stops (yes, you guessed it), yet to be determined... I'll try to include a mix of roads, but will try to get away from the more popular bike routes - the A272 near here is often closed due to accidents, so will not be part of the plan As mentioned in the general board, we have two spare bedrooms (one single, one double), and space in the garden for two or three small tents if you don't mind going down lots of steps. Southampton has a selection of cheapy hotels - Travelodge, Ibis etc. We have a pretty good real ale bar 10 mins from our house (if you're a CAMRA member you get 20p off a pint of cask beer), so will pop along there on the saturday evening. I'll add more details as and when I make it up

Due to being busy / not feeling great, the route was still to be determined until yesterday. I think I now have a good idea for the Sunday run, and contrary to earlier indications, the A272 will feature. It is a nice road, and makes it easy to terminate the run at Petersfield services. The start point will be the MacDonalds in Hedge End. Again, easy to get to for those not staying over at our gaff. If anyone is here for a humble Saturday, it will be just be a couple of hours dodging ponies and cattle round the New Forest, stopping somewhere for a drink / ice cream. As indicated earlier, I can do. BBQ at my place Saturday, I can cater for them vegemeatarians, too.

Brian I believe the run finishes near Petersfield (another McDonalds??) I suggest A272 back to Winchester, then on towards Stockbridge. A30 to Salisbury. Nice roads.
Andy.

Yes, sorry. Safety briefing at 1000hrs at Hedge End MacDonalds SO30 2UH before the run begins We will have a tea/pee/tab stop at Goodwood , then lunch in Arundel. We'll then have a bimble north-east-ish to have an afternoon stop somewhere around Petworth before heading back along the A272 to Petersfield Services. It's an easy place to stop, and a useful crossroads for those travelling home. I wouldn't imagine arriving there any later than around 1600hrs.
