Had my fairing off yesterday to get some accident damage welding done to the bracket. While it was off decided to see if I could get the clock in the dash working again. Corrosion had gotten to the connectors in several places along the loom and turned them to dust so I renewed those, still no clock then checked the fuse which was blown so replace that but again still no clock! Checked for power along the cables and had 12v as far as the last connection before the clock but the terminals on the clock had no power. So turns out the earth connection was broken between the last connector block and the clock itself wired another one in and its working again. Minor victory I suppose but it hadn't been working at least the last two years! So I suppose check the wiring right up to the clock itself before deciding its broken for good.

All you need now is a working fuel gauge.
