I've had my Garmin Quest for about 11 month and after using it a couple of weeks ago in the car it went dead.
I had it in it's cradle and had just arrived back home. I turned the ignition off and about thirty seconds later the Quest display went off. I took it out of the cradle and tried turning it back on using its own power but it was dead. I tried the mains adapter and left it on for a while just in case the internal battery had drained but it still would'nt turn on. As its still under warranty it's gone back to Garmin but I'd like to know if anyone else's goes dead like mine.
Cheers

There was a large thread on another forum (GPS Forum) about the Quest
turning off and never turning on again.
It turns out that there was a bad batch made with a faulty on/off button (now all about 11 months to 16 months old).
Garmin are aware of the problem and repairs are carried out FOC even on those that are out of warranty.
I have had mine for about a year now and its used every day (in the works van and car) not had a problem with mine though.
If I can find the forum and the thread regarding this, I shall post it (got to wait until I get home some time next week :-( with the Bandit though :-)

Thanks for the info DD, I did get it back pretty quickly but no explaination of why it went wrong.
