Hi All,
JR17 is almost upon us :-)
Info first then I'll post some maps so you techy folk can update.fiddle with your gps's.
Thursday:
I've booked a table for 7:30 at Fairways, this is the golf place next door to the travel-lodge where most are stopping.
The table is reserved under my name 'Bruce'.
Link for location if 'Fairways' for those that haven't been there before bit.ly/2qXbDge
Friday:
Leaving from Fairways at 10am, planning a fairly relaxed run as most will already have plenty time on the road.
Aiming to stop in Dornoch for lunch at around 12noon.
I haven't booked anywhere for lunch- you are free to wander.
places to eat bit.ly/2ri2iAG
Carry on up the road to John O Groats, then Dunnet Head, then into Thurso.
Table booked for 7:30 at the Weigh Inn where most are staying.
Saturday:
Leaving the Weigh Inn at 10am, again relaxed run along the top.
Aim to stop at Durness around 12 noon, nice pub if folk want lunch- can also make time if the weather is good if anyone fancies going down into Smoo cave.
Link to the pub with scenic photo's to whet your appetite :-) new.smoocavehotel.co.uk/area/
There is also a very highly rated cocoa/chocolate/coffee place beside durness www.cocoamountain.co.uk/balnakeil/
Carry on down to Ullapool.
Table booked at the Ferry Boat Inn for 6:30. They are busy so couldnt do any later. (their seafood gets good reviews :-)

Sunday:
Leaving from the petrol station at 10am
Planning a detour to the Russian Artic Convoy Museum at Altbea then onto Gairloch for lunch stop around 12noon.
Then weather dependant for the route, if its hissing down we can cut it short.
If it good then we can take a vote on either going over the Bealach or round by plockton then back the Kyle road to Inverness.
I havent booked a table for dinner on Sunday, we can see what folk think closer to the time.
Better start doing sun dances guys as we have already had three great weeks- thats about 2 years allocation !!
Ride safe and see you on Thursday :_)
