I'm 1/2 considering selling my 600s.
It has 19000 miles and runs well. recently fitted new head bearings, fork seals and front pads.
It has a 4 into 1 exhaust that has scratches on the outside after a slow speed drop.
Swingarm needs painting.
I sourced a good 2nd hand shock which rotates and no leaks.
I have done the clutch basket mod and fitted stronger clutch springs.
Seat professionally reupholstered
Recent new rear tyre and front has plenty of tread.
It would make a great commuter bike.
What's it likely to be worth?
Thanks
David

Trev's right you know! I've got a 900 on DEbay at the mo', stuck it on with a low start, no reserve & just going to accept what it reaches. Not as good a time to sell, this late. Best price will be achieved Spring or early Summer.

I get the 'whatever' thing but I wondered maybe if someone on this forum had bought or sold a similar bike so I could get a guide as to its value.
It owes me a bit with all the recent stuff so - keep or sell?

I wouldn't value it highly - if the swing arm is tatty & the pipe scratched - as there will be better ones around. So hard to judge, but from your brief description I personally wouldn't want to pay more than £500, max. At the price, probably best to keep IMO, unless you need the space or money.

Ok, thanks. I .need' neither but am looking for a project bike - old British one maybe - so could put both the space and money to better use.
Or keep the 600 for winter hacking.
Appreciate all the replies

BTW, my 900 I'm selling, I've spent more on it in th last three months than it's starting price on Ebay. The notion that a bike owes you something for the money you've spent on it means nothing to a buyer. You just have to let it go when the time comes to sell. Good luck with finding a project - loads out there for little or lots of money depending what you want so there'll be your project out there amongst them all .

Thanks....the prices being asked for the sorts of bikes I would like are bonkers. A Triumph Tiger 350 £5000 - £7000 in good nick

Gotta cut your cloth accordingly - there's some interesting old Jap bikes that are still a fair price. Especially those that need plenty of TLC. The poor sellers of their day particularly - not many around any more so one you refurb well one will end up a good buy & be fun to practice your talents on before spending too much on something more popular.

Sorry to say Grumps but the trend in Nostalgia seems to be for 2 Strokes(my Aprilia Red Rose Totax commanding nearly as much attention as say my Mille) for instance and they are being asking priced accordingly, however I like the 380 Triple and think it was a better all around bike , than the 550 which could be a little unpredictable. Not as bad as the Widowmaker 500 H1 Kwaka though, which now command ludicrous premiums. Rare bikes like my Sachs seemingly dont, I probably spent 31600 on my Suzuki 650 powered one and if I tried to sell her maybe get half that for it.
