Next thing to consider on Otis is his fuel pump. He still has the OE fuel pump, operated by vacuum. I have read a few threads and have the info on which pump to acquire & from whom, but will it improve his starting ? When he finally fires up, he will keep running & restart without fuss. Altho the carbs need balancing, so tick over is a bit rough. He had a restrictor kit fitted, which had been (supposedly) removed by a shop. However, after riding the bike i thought it too slow, topping out at 80mph I mean 60mph, (Hope she doesn't read this, not allowed to go over 60 on him). So i had the carbs off & removed the inserts in the inlet manifolds. Also replaced the o rings on the manifold to cylinder head joint, using genuine yamaha ones. While i have the tank off, it would be easier to do the mod now, cost aside, what benefit are i likely to see ?

Eh up Ade, yup mod definitely worth doing. Did my 95 d6 a few months ago, np more pi55ing about with priming, starts on the button even after standing for quite a while.
Regards Trev
PS, how come it's taken you so long to get your ar5e on here?

Hi trev, it's taken me so long because :- A i don't have a Divi so my questions are usually about Tiger, Bandit or FJ B SWMBO is a member so i get filled in on all the gossip C If SWMBO wants her Divi fixed, she should ask the questions herself p.s. when you did the mod, did you wire it up thru a relay ? i may need to ask where you took the feed from & how to wire in the relay

Hi trev, it's taken me so long because :- .... until I made a Jonny Wilkinson-type kick-up-the-ar$e so I don't get the flack for any comments presumably made in my name and he can freewheel (bad move???)....

Hmmm, not quite right. it's the Honda 250, not the D6 that I don't want pushed .... That day, we swapped on my D6 with my 1983 Honda CB250RS and I wasn't too keen on the little RS being ratted past me at 60+ mph, it being a 33 yr old small bike and that was with me being there - who knows what had I not have been there? The D6 happily carried me merrily down from North Bucks to Cornwall in the company of the Bandit 1200 in not-too-bad a time Incidentally, the little Honda has just passed its MOT with no advisories AGAIN!!! Big cheer, folks! Blimey, it's in better nick than I am! (Creak)

Wired through a relay with the feed from side lights iirc. In welsh Wales at the moment Will have a look at weekend sent by sausage fingers! Kept looking and sizing up the suppliers/delivery times/costs blah blah blah... Well, I finally bit the bullet and yesterday in a rushed lunch-hour ordered the Facet pump 60104 plus the anti-vibe kit off ebay, good feedback, good price comparable with others plus foc next day delivery. Came home today at lunchtime and it had been delivered, well packed in 2 jiffy bags. Have yet to fully unpack and fit but so far, so good. Supplier is advancedautomotives, shop: advanced auto performance parts. Result! Just need to get a relay off summat and get it wired in. Can't wait
