Al's English ain't that great, either I'll remember that when you need an interpreter up in Fort William! "A pint of your best bitter if you please my good man" is likely to have you instantly ejected (flung oot) from the pub (boozer). So start practising this line: "Gies a pinta heavy ya wee scroat or al dae yer maw again." This tends to get you served faster. . Al.

Not an expert on Pimms, maybe you can educate us all on the run.
I'd avoided heavy and JJ in the same sentence in case I had a nasty accident in the bar in Fort William.

Thank you all for the wellcoming. By the way, what the hell is a Pimms??, I have never tried that. When I was in England I think I tried all the beers you have (several times), but I did not see any Pimms. I posted this in the Photos section, just to show you who we are. Hi everyone. The names Andy and I just got this XJ 900 a couple of weeks ago. It's a 1997 and came with the Givi luggage and heated grips and it's my second bike. I'll use it for commuting and my wife (Liz) will ride it when we go on rallies. I also have an XV 1600 Wild Star.

I decided on the 900 divvy after I got shunted off my FZR600 5 weeks ago. I should have got one years ago for commuting. It is so comfortable.

Evening all. I'm Dave from Derby and below is my trusty steed (although it's changed a bit from when this picture was taken-more piccies when it's finished). I've been kicking around in the background for a while, picking up tips and tricks whilst giving me old bike abit of a makeover. I bought my 600 as a stop gap bike after selling a VFR750-that was over a year ago! The Diversion is a proper "swiss army knife" bike and has been so good that I just can't bring myself to part with the old girl. 600 mile round trip from Derby to Glasgow? No problem. Knee down, brake fluid boiling, tyre sliding blitz up the snake pass? No worries, just remember it's not a Fireblade and you'll be just fine. Humdrum trek to work and back? All in Divvy days work. Picture taken somewhere on the A6 north of Bakewell.

Hi all, Sold my pristine 4k miles 2002 VTEC/VFR last year as I wanted to buy something that I could tinker with. With a bike history that includes a 175 BSA Bantam, 350 BSA single, 250 Honda, 750 Honda, 650 Bonneville, 500 Twin Yamaha, 500 Single Yamaha, 900 Ducati and a 600 Fazer before my VFR, I obviously like changing bikes and trying different things. Bought a 900 Diversion the week before Christmas 2007 and am really enjoying tinkering and riding it about. This really is an underrated bike - pity Yam don't still make these but with an R1 power plant. Pretty confident it will get me down to the Guzzi factory in the summer with my similarly "mature" pals. Since buying it I've spent a nominal amount of money renovating/replacing a whole load of the carp bits (some of the nuts, bolts and fasteners are shocking) and now have a clean and smooth running bike. I may just keep this now !

Hi. I have been lurking for some time, but now I've actually bought a Diversion, I thought I should join.. Living in Maidenhead, but originally from Notts. Bought a SORNed 1993 K reg Green Diversion on Saturday last. MOT arranged for this Saturday, so I should be able to tax and ride it properly from Saturday PM (if it passes) Previous bikes: started with a 175 BSA Bantam, Tiger cub, 500cc Tiger, CZ 175, Triumph Bonneville and Honda CBR600. CBR600 written off, so changing to something cheaper and slower. I will be commuting about 350 miles a week plus weekend rideouts.
