I'm stripping and cleaning my XJ 600, the engine has come up fine with a cleaner but someone has gauged the fork legs trying to get the dust seal out. Its not worth taking the legs off but i thought I might clean, fill then touch up with paint. They are a bronze metallic, anyone know the actual colour?
Thanks

It's an anodising finish, or somesuch like isn't it, rather than a paint finish? So I think you'll prob have to spraypaint the entire item to get a worthwhile improvement after filling. Can only suggest you visit a local car-parts place & look at their available spray colours for something close.

You are correct the same coating is often used on dinghy masts. Personally I would use Gold Hammerite(Clear) brush paint as it leaves as good a finish as proprietary aerosol cans.
