Looks like the runs will be starting and finishing in Beauly. It's a quick 15 miles on the A9/A832 from the Inverness east Premier Inn. Best wait for Adbru to confirm venue? Be nice if we are all fairly close (same town) to one another for the evening ritual of tales of burning off boy racers & talk of how our wet gear leaked like a sieve . I probably jumped the gun a bit here . As it is my booking at the Premier Inn can easily be changed if necessary.

Hi All, I have changed the base location to INVERNESS as Beauly may have been too small if we get a big group. The meeting point for beers etc will be Fairways , we use this venue a lot with the motorsport club I am in. Its very laid back for a 'golf club...' , I eaten there a few times and its good :-) Next door there is a Travel-LodgeThere is a big car part at Fairways so that will be our start/finish point. I will amend the route maps to suit. Look for to seeing you all in May :-)

Decided to come along and join you lot on my 3rd Jock Run. I have a few days off work until the start of the run, so be setting off on the 22nd and heading North obviously. I have not yet decided on any routes hoping someone one can give me some ideas of routes. I was thinking of something on the the lines of Skye then going East towards Wick then back down to Inverness for the JR16. If any one wants to join me they are more than welcome.
Phil

Hi All, Was all set of a recce run yesterday but my f-i-l got rushed the hospital :-( He is ok and should get home tomorrow :-) Right I hope these links work for Gmaps. I was planning the long run on the Saturday and a short run on Sunday for you guys heading home on Monday but can swap if you'd rather the long run on Sunday? First map of the Sunday run, a bimble around Loch Ness with some less known roads for you :-) Sunday_Loch_NessSaturday - Applecross :-) I have two options for this in case of bad weather, first half is the same. Leaving Inverness and heading over Bealach Na Ba (The pass of the cattle), it was an old drovers road. Applecross part1This is approx 124miles to fuel at Kinlochewe, is that an issue for anyone? If weather is bad or we have had enough the we can turn right at Kinlochewe and retrace our steps back to Inverness for approx 190 miles total. Or we can turn left and head through Poolewe which was a staging point for the Russian artic convoys, then back to Inverness. Total for this route approx 240miles Applecross part 2Over to you, are you happy with the long run on Saturday? Is 240 miles too far ? Will we go on a distillery tour and ditch the bikes?? ;-)

I'm happy with 240miles but only if it's not a monsoon at which point I will be in a distillery As you say if we are running late we can always take the short route back from Kinlochchewe

Anyone who needs fuel before 124 miles should have bought a sensible bike . Happy to play "follow the leader". I don't think 240 is too far for the Saturday.

I've been without a bike for a while and was fully intending to purchase yet another D6 but then a saw a BMW R1150RT - its a stunning looking bike and I now own one :-)
Planning to join you on the Sat (if you'll have me!) - travelling up from North Yorks on Friday and staying at the Park Guest House Friday night and Saturday night and back down on Sunday. If the weather is bad then may give Applecross a miss and head east along the coast.....

Looks like I will be attending,
Going up Friday, probably sticking to the left, using the A82 for a scenic run up to Inverness.

Bike doesn't matter, I have been on a few Scotland runs, and two times there were a couple of R1100Rt's there, one of them mine, last one I attended I was on an old airhead BMW though this time I will be on a Fazer 1000 Who was it who went on a clapped out Honda 750, I think the same person Borrowed a D6 one year, because he played ene mini miny moe with the vent tubes to his D9 engine?

Who was it who went on a clapped out Honda 750, I think the same person Borrowed a D6 one year .... It wasn't clapped-out at all - well, not until about 11:30 at night on the A43 south of Northampton on the way home . Ah yes, the borrowed D6! Sweet of Trev, in 2013, to lend me his bestest bike : Sadly, I can confirm that I won't be along to this year's Jock Run . Hopefully someone will do one next year! Have fun chaps .
