Been wrestling with a stuck caliper pin - as I'd like to change the pads on my 600 Divvy. Tried: Good quality allen key socket - no joy, felt like it wanted to slip / round off. Impact driver with the same 5mm key. Air impact gun - with fresh 5mm allen & then with Torx key hammered in. All I'm left with is this: Next steps anyone? (I could split the caliper if I can reach in with the angle grinder to cut the pin, but then I'd have little left to apply pressure to, to undo the seized thread . ) Anyone got a D6 rear caliper they want to sell ?

Heat it up with a blow torch, then tightly clamp a pair of mole grips, and try that, If you only have a heat gun, heat the caliper mount, as alloy expands more quickly than steel! If you can remove the other pin, do so and tap the caliper to and fro to break the corrosion in the caliper first! Have you tried a warranty claim first!

No way to get mole grips on that . In case a warranty claim proves fruitless, I could take it to a chap I know, greatest man that ever lived, next weekend. He's a bright bloke & might be able to come up with something .

Cut a slot in the side and tap with a sharp chisel in the slot until it turns out. Worked on Wullie's N. Don't know how I'm going to get the sheared bleed nipple out though.

Yes bring the caliper up, we can mill the bolt off and re tap the thread, if heat doesn't work, I think we have some stud removers, which will grip the head!

I fixed one of these last week, I drilled out the old nipple, and re tapped a new thread, unfortunately, I drilled the threads as well, had to tap a larger thread, It was on a tdr125 though it looked the same caliper! Bring it down, drilling works 50% of the time, after that you can fit a bolt and drill and tap that! I have some new nipples in stock

Should we re-name the up-coming coast to coast weekend? How about "Buggered Calipers Weekender" ?

I was considering drilling to the thread diameter then running a tap in to clean the thread.
I'll give it a go one lunchtime this week and if/when I cock it up I'll bring it down for the bodge.
