Well I found a B&B for just £28 for the night but it is somewhere in Peterborough, who knows what I will get for that price and have to check with them today to ask if they have somewhere reasonably safe for the bike.
Still have the possibility of running home for the Saturday night but that depends on what is planned for that evening.
I have asked at least twice now about plans for Saturday evening but no-one is telling me what is happening.
It all seems a bit vague guys, really looking forward to meeting you and riding out but is it too much to ask for any sort of itinery??

Sorry I can't put you out of your misery coz I am a Fen Run virgin too. But most of the runs, Saturday evening involves having a meal, a few pints and a natter. I suspect Bob (whos run it is) doesn't actually get on here much (I will be surprised if he can turn a computer on).
On a lot of runs nearly all the attendees stay in one place - like Travelodge.
To summerise there probably won't be anything "planned", so I would only use a B&B if you are too far away to get to the run on the day.

Found some internet in France?  As we have said in the run post, we will put up a 6 man tent in the garden, for the camping type. We are planning on doing a simple BBQ at the house for Saturday evening for all those who want to partake. Will PM address if you need it. Rob & Fern. |

Hi Rob,
With great reluctance I have to pull out of the Fen Run this weekend.
We were going to our place in Greece after the first week in October but have now decided to drive rather than fly, that means we will leave the best part of a week earlier than previously planned to get there when we need to.
Unfortunately I have an outside job on the house that I have to finish before I go so, with the weather as it is, I have to grab every dry day until it is finished.
Sorry to mess you about but I will look for the next one and hopefully make it (unless it is in April when I will be away again).

Bob, please put me down as a late addition - Sunday run only, as I'm committed to a BBQ on Saturday.
I'll try to get there in good time, although I have a reputation to keep up! It's useful to have the heads up about the horse trials - I remember having trouble getting through Stamford a couple of years ago due to traffic from that.

Have a good run weekend folks - I'll be thinking of you all, at least until the drinks start flowing at my 3rd eldest's wedding meal  . If I show suitable restraint, there's still a chance I'll see you tomorrow morning, though if experience is anything to go by, sensible folks won't be putting money on it! |
