..... I wonder if this thread will grow as much as the 600 & 900 Divvy equivalents . Anyway, today I put a new rear tyre on, in prep for the Jock Run: Shame I chose the sports Maxxis instead of the touring - probably wear it out getting there . Got a front Maxxis to match, but the front Bridgestone is too good to junk just yet.

Did nothing on mine today. Got hubby to check tyre pressures before he went to work so I could go out and play

Save that peg that's on the floor, so you have something to jam into the ignition, when it becomes dodgy!

I did nothing today but yesterday I gave it a damn good clean for the first time in months (it rarely gets wet and it lives undercover) and de-cr@pped the chain, adjusted and waxed it. I discovered that the front tyre is heading for the bin after 7000 and a bit miles. I also discovered that it scrubbed up quite nicely.

Don't have a Divvy at the moment (old or new). But I did manage to get the coolant drain bolt on the Mt-03 (fiddly little M6 thing, that you can only tighten a bit more than finger-tight) to seal with a new copper washer from a local car spares shop (Motoquip in Wantage - been there for yonks, very helpful guy). Cost all of 10p, which I'm sure is a bit less than Mr Yamaha's official part.
Also fitted a new front sprocket. Hopefully will find time to do the chain and rear sprocket tomorrow, followed by an oil and filter change once it's been for a spin.
This is one of those jobs that just grew, like Topsy - it started off as a simple valve clearance check. Ah well, at least it'll be done now for another 12K miles.

Bridgestone too good to junk? An oxymoron in many other's language, but frankly I'm in shock that you've not tried to eek it out.....down to the canvass an' all on the first day of the run....

Bridgestone too good to junk? Must admit I've hated that rear tyre - little feel & it stepped out too much. Front never drifted though. Will the Maxxis prove better? Frankly, it's unlikely it could be worse! The older D6 & my CB750 had no such probs on BT45's. This 020 on the XJ was just not nice.

Had a maxxis on front of my old D9 and loved it in all weathers.. Didn't keep it long enough to test longevity though ?

Today I replaced the front tyre. It didn't go without incident as one of the bolts that hold the caliper carrier on to the right hand fork slider decided that it would rather disintegrate rather than undo. After trying all sorts of bodging yesterday afternoon I bit the bullet and went and bought some EZ outs. Fortunately they worked a treat but I reckon I've lost a year or two off of my life due to the events preceding my success! Oh dear.Grum.

Today we sailed through the MOT and I finally picked up the bolt(s) I ordered nearly a month ago. Excellent service from the Yamaha shop. Ahem. Word of advice: Don't take a guy's word about calling you when your bits are in stock, it appears that they don't bother.

It was yesterday but, whatever, the annual oil change and new filter took place. Shocked to see I've only done 900 miles since the last one. It says a lot....

Today I went shopping and left my key on the seat. Fortunately the key and the seat were still there when I came back. Not clever.
