Has anyone tried to fit a pre diversion 900 main stand to a diversion 900? They look very similar and lots more are about?

They can't be more cheaply made or nastier than the Divvie 900 main stand. I just stuck with side stand and bike lift or paddock stand.

haha, that doesnt bode well! although i have realised in the past 10 minutes sicne i posted this that i have two jacks in the garage. could just put one either side of the swingarm when i'd been searching i realised that there were two types of stands, the bobbin style and the flat style. with the bobbin style, the rear axle of the bike has a bolt sticking out on the left and a little bit of axle sticking out the left, i thought they might be suitable for putting the stand on, if a little risky to the health of the bolt. the flat style i'd thought you could just push it further down the swingarm, past the final drive, and my question then had been about leverage - would the bike be liftable from that angle and would the stand reach? but i now realise that the drive shaft is round so the flat style would be possibly be insecure and prone to slippage, although it could work. i think that would be another helpful thing to make, special paddock stand attachments for the d9

No that won't work as the paddock stand is dependant on the bobbins that the eyes fit into , to provide the fulcrum to swivel and lift the rear of the bike as you push and lift the handle (the small wheels revolve as the bike lifts and the base then sits flat on the level. Unless you are expert in alley welding it is simpler to buy as there's one on Fleabay for 24 quid currently. If you do buy the paddock stand, make sure the side stand is down in case it slips and preferably have a helper to steady the bike. I use one regularly single handed on my Aprilia Mille but it weighs nothing like as much as a D900!

i would make it so where the pieces pivot would be even, but the left insert would swing lower, it would work plus i'm a decent welder, like trained and all, they even gave me bits of paper to tell me I can haha. when you say "alley" do you mean aluminium or alloy? either way i can make it out of any material i have to hand, got a good bunch of tool steel in the shed waiting to be forged, might be good fun to do at the weekend
