Bought a l reg yamaha diversion 600 with just 7000 miles on clock
However I'm hearing a few sounds which are worrying me.
When I turn the bike on I can hear a loud slapping/rubbing noise towards the front of the engine. This disappears if I take the bike towards 3000 rpm. It also disappears when I have rode the bike and got engine very warm
Bike also flat spots regularly but I know that's most likely down to carbs. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Could be cam chain tensioner getting initially stuck, possibly through lack of use.

Probably due to the build up of cruddy fuel, again, possibly through lack of use.
Possible action would be to change the cam chain tensioner, then remove the carbs and thoroughly clean out the jets.
Hope this helps
