Looking for a source of new or very good S/H oil cooler lines for my 900S
Lots of oil has suddenly appeared in the area of the cooler and lines.

Indeed! I checked the price of the Yamaha parts and nearly lost my lunch (again) !!
The ASH sounds like a good DIY solution. But I,ve also emailed Goodrich who do braided kits for the bikes but I,m thinking,if they,ll make some it will be a 6 week run in time.I,ll keep posted about that. but I,ve washed the bike and then ridden it and it looks like the oil is coming from the left side(gearchange) of the cooler and if my eyesight is,nt fooling me,it looks like a "silver" washer is in there. Now ,I would have thought the banjo would need a copper or brass washer....anyone?? I,ll let you know how I get on.

Quick update. I,ve wrapped part of the cooler in bandage and thats stopped oil getting all over my left leg!! I,ve found a pattern oil cooler in UK and I,ll order that over the weekend. However,I,ve now got electrical issues. My indicators have packed up and when I hit the switch in a certain way,the neutral light dims then goes bright again. But no indicator. It works now and then but mainly nothing. Frankly,I,m getting depressed about this bike. I threw nearly £600 at it for the spring summer including new Metzelers, new brake lines, new fluids, new air filter, carb balance, valve clearance check etc etc. The bike does,nt seem to want to reward my efforts with a good reliable period of operation and I,m thinking I might just sell it as a spares bike and cut my losses. So,if anyone thinks they can save this bike, whilst I,m in the mood, make me a silly offer and take it away. If I find some new left hand switchgear, then things might change but right now,I,m looking at a BMW 800 RALPH.

No matter how careful you are, the oil cooler cracks at the pipe banjo bosses. I fitted a PWR transmission oil cooler under the headstock. It needed brackets and careful fitting to avoid fouling the forks on full lock. The pipe tails had to face down. I used ASH fluoro lined oil hose 90deg bends and straight hoses 10mm copper tubes are good joiners. At the oil filter end I cut off the original rubber hose ferrules. Stainless hose clips only just big enough did a fine job. The next size up went D shape (and leaked) before properly gripping. It was a few years ago but if memory serves the 135mm PWR cooler fits best. The taller one is tight but can also fit if done carefully. The silicone hoses allow the cooler to be tipped upside down on first starting the engine. The clears air from the matrix it can then be bolted back to the frame. Alternatively buy a new Yamaha cooler or junk the whole lot and do without entirely. I'm on the phone but maybe someone can find the link to my oil cooler mods.
