Per the Haynes manual Though I prefer 15w And best to measure by level rather than volume (again, check with Haynes for the figures), in case not all the old stuff's come out. If the old oil is really manky (smelly, contaminated with silver dust) it's a good idea to flush them out with a little oil (light hydraulic oil is ideal, but fork oil will do). Give them a good pump, but be aware that if you bottom them right out it takes quite an effort to pull them open again.

Divvy 900: 10w fork oil 1994 to 1996 444cc 1997 onwards 441cc. Per the Haynes manual Recalling the fork oil change I made two years ago, I think these are the figures per fork, so for the two, you'll need double the above figures. THANKS IS 15W A Heavy,eR OIL? Yes it is. The 10w oil is recommended for use with the original Yammie springs. If you're upgrading to Hagon progressive front fork springs, Hagon recommends 15w oil.

Damping does nothing on compression so it needs enough to stop it bouncing. Any stiffer can lead to forks pumping up on corrugated surfaces. Saying that I used 20w50 one time and it was fine. 10w40 would be better. It's working cold so will be the same weight as monograde oil.

It's cold so oil weight is same as10w fork oil. Engine oil keeps debris in suspension to be separated by the filter. The forks have no filter so it isn't ideal. Fork oil has none of those additives so the carp can drop into bottom of forks.
