The patient is a 92 XJ600 Diversion new clutch lever new clutch cable new clutch push rod bearing kit new clutch friction plates new springs new oil (10w-40 semi synthetic) oil pin rattle is taken care of ,just tacked it with the welder Problem? The bike gives almost a bang when put in gear....WHY???

Assuming your clutch is adjusted fine now, my gut feeling would be incorrect chain tension.

the clutch is almost not working when engine is cold, it seems its getting better when the engine gets hotter

Sounds like the plates are'nt meshing,.Maybe too loose, and expand when warm, just a thought. The other thing that I recall from fixing a timing chain rattle on an OHC Honda V4,back in the 90s I couldnt get it to select gears, . Embarissing when someone was coming to look at the bike for sale. After that he said give me a call when its fixed and I found the rod that went through had'nt seated properly. Maybe something similar on a Divvy 600???

Assuming your clutch is adjusted fine now, my gut feeling would be incorrect chain tension. I had this same issue on my last divvy... chain tension fixed the issue... but random though.
