Ok guys, the cold weather has mullered my battery so i'm after a new one, i'm think along the lines of a heavy duty battery ( if there is such a thing), i have heated grips, a phone charge cable and an alarm wired up, your thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks Chris

It doesn't really matter what make of battery you have, if it's allowed to discharge fully it'll soon die. So I'd say the most important thing is to keep it topped up with a decent intelligent charger. Alarms are notorious battery killers.
The accessories should be supplied by the alternator rather than the battery, so long as you're moving at a decent speed. If you spend a lot of time in slow traffic it might be as well to turn the grips off and maybe get some really warm gloves - I'm a big fan of the now-defunct Hein Gericke Pathan three-fingered ones, with inners if it's really cold.
You can't go too far wrong with Yuasa or Varta, though I've had good service from a cheap gel battery on my DRZ400 in France. It's only 6Ah and has to turn over a high-compression single, as well as spending long periods when the bike isn't used, so it has quite a hard life - the OEM battery only lasted a couple of years under those conditions. It's called something like "Power Thunder", though I don't know if that make is available in the UK.

Thanks Bob, i think my current battery is a yuasa but a 9ah as per haynes manual ( if thats accurate), i do bloodbiking of a night so warm hands are a must, especially in this weather, i have a feeling the current battery has been on for years
