There is a thread from, I think, 2007 where lots of people were pleased with the super flip-up Skidmarx screen, so I'm after one - mirror stalk cracked the existing one . Looking for a clear one, so if you have one going spare in good condition, please let me know. Thanks.

Replaced the cracked Givi screen with a Skidmarx super flip - visited the factory and installed the new one on their forecourt! Needed to order the super flip for the 1994 bike even though mine is a 99: www.skidmarx.co.uk/yamaha/20778-yamaha-xj900-diversion-94-super-flip-flip-up-tall-screen.htmlIt's a big improvement on the cracked Givi - it's about 4 inches taller, sufficient to reduce the noise and turbulence significantly. However, as it seems I have a long torso, it's not totally quiet - can't ride with the visor open. Still a significant improvement though . My bike is fitted with a Fazer 600 master cylinder and its mirror stalk hole(?) is positioned closer to the screen compared to that of the D9 master cylinder. To prevent the mirror stalks cracking the new screen on full lock, the bars needed to be rotated backwards towards the rider a lot.

Ade will be interested in this as he's quite tall and finds the wind noise and turbulence on most bikes a bit of a bovver, being 6'2".
How good a fit was it, bluevinny, and what was it like to fit to the bike? Anything other than what you've already mentioned about the bars? I'd be interested to know as I have bought Skidmarx stuff in the past. I admit it looked good but the fit ..... hmmm.
The short story is that I was a little disappointed when I fitted the Skidmarx double-bubble screen & rear hugger to my SV650S (2000/W SK1). Had to push, pull & tweak both a bit plus add a small mod to the hugger (quite sexy little spacer discs as it turned out but which shouldn't really have been needed) to stop it rubbing on the tyre.

I'm also 6'2" and found the Superflip to be the best of the available screens. Not silent in normal riding but crouch slightly and it was great (if you can suffer the back-ache) It did mean I spent a lot of time looking through the screen rather than over it though

I'm also 6'2" and found the Superflip to be the best of the available screens. I'm 5'8" tall with a long torso which puts my head into the wind stream. The Skidmarx D9 super flip is 62cm tall; the Givi screen is 52cm. How good a fit was it, bluevinny, and what was it like to fit to the bike? Anything other than what you've already mentioned about the bars? I'd be interested to know as I have bought Skidmarx stuff in the past. I admit it looked good but the fit ..... hmmm. Thinking about it, the fitting of Skidmarx products to a couple of bikes was not all straight-forward. Some persuasion was needed to align the mounting holes of the D9 super flip to the mounting holes on the front fairing. However, the screen sits comfortably within the recess of the fairing ok. The master cylinder and clutch lever were also rotated on the bars in addition to rotating the bars. Fitting the Skidmarx rear hugger to a Bandit 650 in 2008 required using hard plastic washers - from the local fasteners factors - to align the hugger away from one side of the rear tyre. Not silent in normal riding but crouch slightly and it was great (if you can suffer the back-ache) It did mean I spent a lot of time looking through the screen rather than over it though That riding position also works for me ... for a few seconds!

Fit mirror extenders to move the stalks sideways then you can have the bars in a comfortable position.
Anyone thinking of fitting a medium flip DONT. mine battered my head so much with turbulence that I literally couldn't see over 50mph.

Attachment DeletedI ordered a new supaflip 2 year's ago and skid mark cut 2 inches of each side to overcome mirror fowling. Works a treat. I have just added a picture which I sent to skidmarx marking how much I wanted cut off each side.

Some issues about the quality of fitting of their products I've fitted, but their personal service is good.
