Had an issue with the indicators on my d9 flashing irregularly and one in particular not working at all so as they were a bit beat up i cleaned up all the wiring and replaced all four indicators with new ones. I have a bit of a wierd problem now though that when I turn either direction indicators on they are fine for a few seconds then start flashing fast as if a bulb has gone but they are all working....would those symptoms point to a dodgy relay or something else? Cheers

Are your replacement ones small? What wattage bulbs are they using compared to the originals?
(I'm assuming they ain't LED)

I had the problem before I changed the indicators although I must admit I haven't looked at the bulbs as they came with the indicators so will check they definitely not leds

They are smaller than standard but are similar to what I took off which always worked ok till fairly recently

On my old Divvies the indicators were 21w, same as my cars. 10w bulbs, using the original flasher relay, flashed too quick when I used one as a spare. Might be your issue.

The lenses are stamped 12v 21w so I presume that's what the bulbs are as both sides flash quick after a while and they are brand new indicators

So after much headscratching and checking and double checking this turned out to be old bulbs.....the set up I have inherited from the previous owner is four small indicators two front two rear and two indicators on the givi wingrack....after much bulb swapping the two old bulbs in the wingrack were the culprit..even though were working they were either overheating or just plain knackered I swapped them with new ones and all is fine
