My rear brake only come on if you apply excessive pressure to the brake pedal could this be because the brake resevoir has been overfilled and there's too much pressure in the line I'm finding it extremely diifficult to get the top off the resevoir because of it's in an awkward location and presuming that the screw in the lid is a retaining screw and needs to be removed first before screwing off? As usual thanks for any replies I may or may not receive.

Unlikely to be over filling but you probably do need to drain some out because it will overflow if you fit new pads. On my bike I found the brake being hard was down to pads nearly worn out so presumably the piston was near the end of its travel and in need of a good clean. New pads transformed the brake.

I'm with crickelymal. Check the pads first.
An overfilled reservoir won't be the problem, youll only find the fluid comes over the top when you screw the cap back on if it's overfilled.
The cap is a bugger to get off on the D6. Assuming you've already got the rear fairing panel off it will come off with a bit of wiggling. The cross head screw just holds the reservoir in place. I find that removing it just hinders things but it does let you move the reservoir around a bit so you might have better luck.

Looks like to think e there's plenty of meat left on the brakes. Was going to bleed them but bleed nipple is solid so will have to try when fluid had had chance to penetrate threads.Where can I obtain a replacement nipple incase it needs persuading out without buying the whole shebang anyone?

Bleed nipples are cheap enough on ebay and the like. Just don't snap the head off or you'll be really screwed!
