Are Iridium spark plugs worth fitting , anybody know of any advantages or disadvantages?

Yes and no!
They extend the mileage before replacement, so if you do high miles, or if fitting is difficult, then they are worth fitting, but otherwise not worth it!
All in my humble opinion!

I bought them for my bike, but for a service I just use normal 4929 / DPR8EA-9 NGK`s just check the ones you have, if they are rusty knackerd ones then replace them, most of the time they probly just need a good brush up and re-gap. but I like to have the best for my own bike unless ppl want to spend more.

I used standard spec NGK & got 10000 miles a set. The body was always rusted but electrode ends always looked ok. I guess the insulators failed.

If you buy a new water-cooled Diversion the plugs are totally invisible so you can pretend they don't exist and just ignore them. A new Diversion is a little more expensive than a set of plugs though.
Grum.

ABSOLUTELY 100%!
Fitted NGK CR8E-IX Iridium three years ago.
Two significant differences: 1. MASSIVE improvement in cold weather winter starting. Previously often had to jump start the motorcycle from the car battery. NEVER had to do it since changing it iridium plugs. 2. A change in engine tone - not better or worse, just different. Perhaps a touch more aggressive. No carburation changes - exactly as was - just an iridium plug upgrade.
Do it, you will not be unhappy!
Regards, RB
