Thinking of powder coating mine as the paint's started flaking off after 18 months in use, so perhaps a good idea to sort out now before winter.
In terms of preparation, I'll remove all bore seals and pistons. Should I also separate the caliper halves to remove the O rings sealing the halves together? Are these O rings easily available?
Any problems in general? Is there an alternative robust finish available?
TIA.

They'll need splitting to be powder coated. Seals are available from Fowlers of Bristol.

I just take them off, clean with sandpaper, and a wire brush, mask off and spray with etch primer, then satin black them, This is what I did in the end. Seems to be holding up despite riding through the wet weather since the new year!

Mine was powder coated and to be fair it cost only £20 and lasted quite well. But corrosion crept in from the bleed nipple holes. The body joint was ok but I had used a smear of Loctite 518 all around the edges to seal it. I think a RHS front blue spot would be a much better option. It would need a new mounting plate and wheel spindle spacers but they are far more durable. It wouldn't over brake the wheel - disc too small.
