newbie its the road after 14 years on XJ900s

Hi everyone. a quick update. just purchased my blue xj900s on a 99 plate. 36k miles 2 previous owners. not a minter but a very clean bike. came with heated grips. 12v adaptor. Givi E460N box. chrome engine bars. a spare touring screen. Haynes manual and even a full tank of full I'm not joking !!. purchased for £460. was a 400 mile round trip but well worth the time & effort. it was garaged for 2 years. just mot. had a new rear disc for mot. carbs balanced and oil and filter. stands me at £700 now. very pleased with the bike. everything works even the fuel gauge. just fitted clear indicator lenses which makes the bike slightly updated lol. the bike is fitted with Dunlop's. are these the best tyres for this bike ?. I based in Rochdale and would be interested in any meetings or ride outs. just got back on the road from a 14 year break. my 1st trip was last week up to Scotland with 7 other bike mates on a 3 day tour with 800 miles under my belt. WHAT AN EYE OPENER !!

That seems cheap for a 99 plate with that mileage. All comes down to condition of course, so if a clean one, all the better .

Not sure about trendy clear indicator lenses .

.................. tyres? Can't really help - I like the Maxxis touring or Bridgestone 020's (hard to find now). Which Dunlops do you have?
