Hi,
I very recently bought a 2003 XJ900S Diversion
I always like to have a manual, so I've been looking...
The Haynes only claims to cover up to 2001; is that a problem ?
Was there a model change ?
There are CDs, I assume copies of the Yamaha Dealer's CD on e-bay that
claim to cover "post '95".
Are these useful or not usable by normal people ?
(I have a BMW one for my Dakar and it's OK but does 'talk in BMW speak'...
P.S. Before I get a manual, what is the purpose of the grey, rubber bung in the engine-end of the drive shaft cover ?
I was expecting a grease nipple, but it just shows me the coupling.
Why would I want to see that ?
Cheers,
Mike

The Haynes will be fine, the models changed slightly in the mid to late 90's and was discontinued in ' 03, don't know why Haynes didn't just list the manual till then though I have a parts fische in pdf if you want me to e-mail to you? As for the bung, it's just an inspection cover as you say. A grease nipple on a divvy, you're joking right?

Cheers, Mike The Haynes only lists until 2001 because that's when it was last printed, though it never changed after 1998, so it will be fine! The rubber bung is so you can inspect the universal joint for wear! More useful is reapers DVD which is advertised on the front page of the site, there never was a dealer CD, just someone ripping off the dealer manual and saving it as a PDF, I never found either much use, D9's are simple bikes!
