.....for a D 900 required, anyone got one kicking around? Just investigating a fairing wobble I noticed on the WWW run and came across this.... Could be welded, but I'd prefer to replace I think. Bit fiddly to weld/line up correctly. C'mon get digging at the back of those sheds/lock ups/lofts and help a man in need. Tia, Trev.

I would have thought welding it would have better suited your legendary short arms/deep pockets. Where did you fall off ?

Whats wrong with a bit of dowel shoved in both ends & hammered shut Neil That's not quite as wacky an idea has you thought. Will probably reinforce the tubing with an insert of steel, will strengthen it, it's only thinwall tubing, and help give a bit more to weld too.

But you don't want to weld it And Araldite or nonails works better on wood Neil

Where did you fall off ? Harsh, Bev - it could just be poor maintenance . Given the fact it's a clean recent break top and bottom it looks like it's been shunted sideways. Still no news on when he dropped it.

It's an after effect of a 'previous incident' some can't seem to forget It was previously welded, hence my reluctance to have another go.

It's an after effect of a 'previous incident' some can't seem to forget It was previously welded, hence my reluctance to have another go. it's a stress point, the welding is the cause of the break, you need to insert a smaller diameter pipe into either join, in order to support the welded area, to stop it cracking there, and move the stress area to somewhere not welded, then belt and braces, add a support like the outline here, but using 3mm flat bar!

Yep, worked that out, (read my response to Neil's dowel post). The extra support from a flat bar wouldn't go amiss.
