Hello All
Not sure if this has been asked in the past but I did a quick "Hugger" search and nothing jumped out at me.
anyway, I have recently got a nice divvy 600 which a really clean swingarm and shock etc, I was looking at getting a Hugger to keep it that way.
M&P direct sell one for £70 but I also read that TDM850 one will go on with "minimal fuss". Now I can get a good condition TDM hugger for £25 but does anyone know how hard or what this "minimal fuss" is to make it fit?
A few folk mention fitting the TDM one to there Divvy but from what I can find no one elaborated into what was involved.
can anyone help with a bit of insight?
many thanks
John

I'm guessing you mean the TDM850, not the TDM900? Would be handy to find out though - where are these few folk so we can ask 'em ?

Looking at the back of the bike:
It bolts to the chain guard mounts on the left but there's no where to bolt it to on the right side of the swingarm so you need to make a mount. I've seen this done 3 ways. 1. Bracket welded on. 2. Bracket pop riveted on. 3. Strip of metal that goes all the way around the arm and meets at the top with a hole in each side (similar to a exhaust strap)

If I remember correctly, the hugger on my XJ600S bolted to the chain guard bolts on the left (chain guard discarded) and to the brake torque arm on the right - the bar which runs from the top of the caliper to the front of the swingarm, to stop the caliper rotating with the wheel (torque arm not discarded).
Detonation - I thought i recognised your name from the xjrider site. Do you have any problems with logging on there? I find I can log on OK, but a few minutes later I have been logged off again, which is the main reaso n I don't visit it as often as I would like.

Same as on here, but I have only posted over there a couple of times. When I have posted, I have had to type the post in a word processor, then log in and copy and paste the words into the post window. If I try to type a post straight in, I get logged out before I have finished.
I'll give it another go - there are some interesting project threads over there, including you own.
