This is probably a question for Grumble, Merv or Ori ......
........ where is the vacuum take-off on an XJ6 for running a Scottoiler please? Do you pinch one of the take-offs for balancing the throttle bodies, or is there a spare somewhere? TIA.
EDIT: If the take-offs, 1 & 2 seem pretty accessible.

Why do you need to know ? Neil Idle curiosity Erm ..... to benefit from the wisdom of those who have gone before ..... . Anyhow, decided now - No1 take-off it is . Though rain has stopped play now, so the take-off is blanked. Will reconvene at a suitable time / weather experience.

Don't use them I'm afraid, not a fan of the Scotoiler I prefer to oil my chains using a half inch paintbrush and engine oil, Having said that my fz6 did 8000 miles without ever adjusting the chain!

Me to, I have a used one of those touring hobbies, and one of those range extenders for the normal one, but still sat in a box after a few years!

Can't you rig it up like you did your old D9 ? Don't be daft he's never needed a snot oiler before all his bikes were naturally lubricated by the various leaks systems he used from the engines. Neil

On the first XJ6 I had I used the balance spud, and hoiked it our through a gap [didn't even need to pull the tank up). It is temrinated with a double ended stop-end/nipple. I then took it off and drilled through it length-ways with a 1mm bit and used it to connect to the snot-spoiler.
I don't use one now though, too bleeding messy.

I use spray lube and avoid using the bike too much so it stays clean and dry(ish). I've never had a Scottoiler but I have got through a few chains in my life . Fortunately I'm still on the first one on the "new" XJ but chain maintenance sucks. Grum.

Snot oilers dripping onto the back sprocket tend to be messy. Fitting them nearly horizontal is unreliable. Run the feed to the front sprocket works well. Put the oiler in the fairing where you can see the its flowing, not too fast or too slow.
