Seeing as the weather is so nice and supposed to be lasting this Sunday 16/3/14 I will be at the usual Mellor`s Oatcake shop as a start to a little ride out. Depending on how many tag along depends on were we go, but the provisional plan is for Pancakes for lunch and an end point of Oswestry. Will start out from Mellor`s at 10.15am if you want to join.
The good lady wife has pointed out that when we do the Oatcakes and Pancakes run we usually finish around 5pm and then there is a 1 hour run home. She suggests that I leave that run for summer and the longer days, have to agree would be better.
So we are going to do a twist on the run to the Iron Bridge,Craven Arms and Church Stretton then will end the run at McDonalds Telford.
Hope to see you Sunday morning for some old and new (for me to) roads.

I might manage to join you all for brekkie, but not for the ride out
Need to spend the weekend bike shopping with Chef
and Tweety needs a gasket changing, nothing major, just the clutch cover, but needs to be done.

Put me down as a possible please (It's a lot nearer to home than Lincolnshire, but I need to 'fix' the bike first - doh)

Sup Mr Reaper In deference to my age and condition, Im going to do a practice of my own to see how the old bod handles more than an hr or two on the bike. As the Lincs run is decidely closer to home, Im going to opt for that just on the off chance Im not quite up to it. Safe riding matey. Chris

Sup Mr Reaper In deference to my age and condition, Im going to do a practice of my own to see how the old bod handles the temperature and as it will be warmer and drier in Lincolnshire I will opt for that just on the off chance the Busa wiring is not quite up to powering all the heated kit! Safe riding matey. Chris Sorted for you Chris

Good to see you all at Mellors for brekkie.
The sun finally came out as everyone set off.
I followed you all to the turning for Stone in the hope of doing some more bike shopping but it seems it's still too early in the year for Sunday shopping.
Hope you had a good ride out.
See you all again soon.

What a cracking day out Grommett!
Great weather, Brilliant roads even that one that had never been a road up to the Long Mynd!! And the angle of that road! I have been on planes that have taken off shallower than that!
Cracking company. Nice to see Jen at the Oatcake House. Thanks to Paul for arranging it. Bring on the next one!

Nice to see you guys and hope you all enjoyed the little bimble, also nice of Jen to pop along for the start. It was touch and go as to weather I made it or not up until an hour before we met you all, spent most of yesterday and part of this morning throwing up, nothing like a good blast to take ya mind of things. Had a bit of a argument with the new satnav when it said turn right and there was no road or bridge over the river Severn. But that was down to Tyre putting extra way points in. The view over the top of Long Mynd was spectacular never seen the weather so clear up there and yes the run up is a bit steep think it`s a 1 in 4. How the hek those on push bikes made it to the top beggars belief, it looked like that guy on the way up when we were on the way down was stopped to have a heart attack. Checked the satnav and the figures it gives are - 168 miles average speed 37mph fuel economy 53.3mpg 1,417 gear shifts front brake applied 488 times rear brake applied 473 times and I never touched the rear peddle once. Ambient temp when we started out 8c Top temp 19c See you on another bimble.

what a refreshing change!!
lovely day out, and all started with an oatcake breakfast !
thanks Paul /Loz for leading and Bandit bringing up the rear for the whole day.
The Long Mynd was exceptional, views magnificent, except for them lycra loveing loonies....must have really, really , really slightly annoyed all those other road users, ( I mean the LLL didn't even pull into passing places to allow them to get past while they wobbled around at about 1mph)
felt rather tired on returning home, been a long time since i spent so long on the bike, must do better..
thanks for the company all, and to tigger for the run home...
(tig, you forget where you live?? or where you having to much fun down the A5?)
