Ok, we'll now I got my shed, I've started on the divvy again! It was not firering on number one. I took carbs off, and prev person used instant gasket. It was all in float bowls and over the floats. I leaned it all up and cleaned the rust and lime scale out. (He ran it with water in fuel) now it been sat in my garden now since August and the fuel has gone cloudy. I managed to start it, but now it's running one all bar number 4, so one is fixed. I removed the bowl, and seemed to have water in there, but also some crud so cleaned it out. I drained all the fuel from the tank so can replace with fresh.
But then I remembered I lost the small rubber o ring from under the diaphragm cap. What is it for and is it needed? Will it make it run ruff?

O rings in carbs stop air or fuel from getting to where air or fuel should not get. Its a gasket - it stops leaks.
As its been standing all winter with old fuel, the carbs will need to be properly cleaned. Also clean the fuel tank as that's likely to be rusty and the bike wont run with stale fuel.
Unless you plan to do a full restoration job, remember the good money after bad rule.

Rust, blown bearings, chain, tyres, state of carbs and linkages, battery, sparks box. Is it really worth the cost of sorting it all out? Pretend its not your own bike and be clinical about it. wassup dave looking for cheap 600 Neil

Had it a year now, and spent a few hundred on it, so not going get rid now. looking forward to finally riding the damn thing lol.
