i posted this a bout stiff gears a little while ago

Help please, the last couple of days my gears have been really stiff and hard to change gear, I initially thought it was a seizing lever but alas not, having only had this bike for a short time could a lack of oil change cause this?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Had some wheel issues but now sorted thanks to teejayexc, put the bike together started it up and run as per normal but could not for the life of me get it in gear, the lever just would not budge, after leaving engine running for a while I got some movement but it was still quite stiff.
question is if I put fresh oil in, could this solve the issue or am ilooking at something a little more terminal?

Check the gear lever linkage, I had an issue with a worn one once that 'rolled' over in the ball joint and locked up thus preventing gear changes. When changing gear with this, I had to go for whatever gear I was selecting, then press/lift in the opposite direction quickly before reverting back to selecting the gear sounds weird, but try it and see if that helps. If it does I'd change the linkage soonest.

I did check the linkage first off and that seemed to be swinging freely

Never heard of a cover seizing either!

On the 600 its always wise to check the clutch operating shaft bearings. They are needle rollers so shot bearings will wear the shaft, cause it to move about and the oil seal fails. This lets rain water into the engine.
Even if the bearings feel ok open up the clutch cover and grease them properly with high temperature grease. Also do the clutch release thrust bearing. The 600 throws very little oil into that area so stuff fails.

It ended up being a partial seizure on the outer casing all sorted with a rub and grease up ?

Yes but check the clutch anyway to avoid that letting you down. Its supposed to be a wet clutch but sump oil doesn't really get into the area very much so things run dry.
