Hi, I was going to attempt my first ever oil and filter change on my 97 600 divvy. I've ordered the oil filter wrench, and have watched the oil change video posted on this site. What oil should I use (fully synthetic, or semi?), are pattern oil filters o.k., or should I only consider genuine. Your input is much appreciated.

Use semi synthetic 10w40, Filters are much of a muchness on a divvie, so pattern should be fine, If your not sure, get someone to supervise you, even someone from this site if your not to far, It's a fairly simple job, but things can and do go wrong!

Its very easy to tighten the sump drain plug when you mean to loosen it. It screws down of course, but its all too easy to get muddled so some help is worth having for the first time.
