Hi Guys I was coming home from work on the D900 doing 60MPH when the engine drop in revs while I was in the middle lane of the motorway. It was cold and I am not sure if this was the problem. Anyone got any ideas what is happening and is there anything I can do. It was a little frigthening with the motorway full of vehicles all around me when the revs dropped. When the revs dropped I just closed the throttle and opened it again and it would pick up a little at first then it would either settle or drop again. When it settled it would go for while and start to drop in revs again. Got any ideas how this can be sorted.
Regards Irishkev

Common fix is to pour 1% of isopropyl alcohol in with the fuel!

Mine used to do it regularly in the very dry winter air of South Wales. Meths or rubbing alcohol also works as a fuel additive. The carbs have electrical heaters. when they are working, the headlight dims slightly when you put the bike into gear.

Mine did that in winter, only ever in one place! Along the M27 as it crossed the river Hamble. I bought a gallon of isopropanol, for not much more than one of the propriety brands that cost the same for a litre. Changed jobs now, don't cross water, not happened since!
