Exactly what it says on the tin! In another post chunk166 admitted to killing a bird (a feathered one) with his bike and I wondered how broad a variety of creatures we've all killed. I've killed a pigeon, pheasant, badger, rabbit and a cat - the cat was very upsetting, but they've got no bleedin' road sense I must confess to having done a lot of miles - i'm NOT an animal killer!

Shouldn't this thread be called what animals have wiped you out, Dave?

I once ran over a rabbit with the back wheel of a Suzuki X7 (if you are younger than 45 you will have to google to find out what an X7 is) Stupid bunny ran out between the front and back wheel, immaculate timing as I was doing around about 80 at the time.

Nearest I came to getting wiped out was when a seagull came down to get a bit of food off Dumbarton Road,it saw me coming and tried to gain height again, not very successfully. The last thing I saw before I ducked was a giant yellow beak and outspread wings flapping like mad, amazing how big they are when they're right in front of you.I always wondered if it would have snapped my neck if I'd hit it with my head at 30ish.

It was probably blinded by the fish supper and tin of lager it had in its beak!

(if you are younger than 45 you will have to google to find out what an X7 is) My mate Zoe had an X7 in 1998. It had been abused by a succession of 'owners' on the log book. It had All Speeds and K&N filters and was a complete pig to start. Her Dad came from a diet of RD's and various stink-wheels and at that time was an RD nut (he rode a ZZR1100 then - so he was well used to 'crazy' bikes!). We converted it to standard and it was an absolute riot! It weighed bugger-all and had a naughty power delivery - not a great learner bike. I believe that's why she's into trikes now.......................... Cracking bike - fuggin' mental! I'm amazed that some of you learners actually made it past the 'part 1' test back then on them and RD's - purely nuts!

This is an X7 with super fast fairing and optional cool dude Fan-fuggin-tastic! WAY before my time (I started riding in 1993) but I do love the old stink wheels. I'll bet that X7 was super-fast with that fairing! Awesome! Got any more pics? I love old strokers.

..... nice dog ade but wouldnt fancy getting in a fight with him. Not quite the same, but not so long back Pete came home from work wearing a pheasant as a mascot. He had hit it on the way back but at the time he thought he had just run over it. He got out the car at the top of the house and my neighbour 3 doors down asked if he could have the remains for a stew. The bird broke his front grill and his inards had to be jetwashed off the engine

I was riding back from work last night when just as I was exiting a tight left hander a fluffy bunny decided to check my tread depth! It was a bit touch and go for a second but I remembered my Gordon Hart training and managed to keep upright. I looked back to see the rabbit lying prone in the road. I thought it was a hazard to other bikes, lying like it was on the racing line, so went back to move it to the verge. Just as I got off the bike an Audi stopped and a guy got out to see what was going on. I told him the situation and he explained he was a vet. After checking the victim he returned to his car, rummaged in the boot and retrieved an aerosol can. He sprayed the prone rabbit and after a few seconds, to my astonishment, the bunny's eyes opened, his nose twitched and it leaped up and hopped into the hedge! Amazed by this I asked the Vet what was in the can. He explained it was............
Hair Restorer!!!!!!!!!!
I'll get me coat

I have had altercations with a few dumb animal in my time. Worst was a cat. RD250's really can cartwheel when you're still grasping a handful of front brake at the point of impact ............ only one of us walked away that day I have since that day pledged to nuture & love our feline friends.. even when they find new and more ingenious ways in which to wind me up....

"I know how you felt about killing the moggy" .............. the sadness for the moggy actually came some time later . First I had to hitch a lift 10 miles to the hospital, get operated on, then spend a few days as an in-patient . .......... got me 9 weeks off work though .
