So got everything wired up and a got battery with power in it but when I press the starter button I get a loud audible click from the relay But nothing from the starter. Is there a way to Ben h test starter or a common thing I might be missing ?
Cheers for reading

As there is only one terminal I can see on the starter , where would the positive jumper cable and the negative jumper terminate ?

Cheers for reading Mick Sounds to me like the blue wire syndrome, easy enough to check.... diversionclub.proboards.com/thread/9702/more-advanced-displays-muppetry

The negative onto the mounting point and the positive to the terminal mate. Im thinking charge on battery myself rather than the blue wire because im sure you would have noticed the corrosion /blue crud while fitting the new loom

Blue / white wire from starter relay looks sound but if I wire I direct wire from the switch to solenoid then it cranks when I push the button ............. But even with ignition turned off . Was this the wire you guys were referring to ?

And it would seem wiring direct to blue white off the relay , bridging the clutch and side stand switch will turn the starter motor over but doesn't give any spark at the plugs ...........Brain drain and swearing was the flavour of the day, realy want it to fire over to keep me motivated ha ha

Please get a manual for the bike and all will become clear.
To test a starter use a spanner across the starter solenoid terminals. If the bike turns over (with a good battery) the starter is good enough.

I do have a haynes manual but wiring diagrams realy aren't a strong point of mines. I have looked but still can't fathom out what blue wire I have to inspect as all my wire terminals look realy good with no rust or blue/green crap on them.

Disconnect the terminals and check out the crimps and contacts inside for crud/corrosion. Dab with ACF-50 before putting back.
