So rebuild coming along nicely ........but ha ha My loom was a bit crispy so got a 2003 n loom but altho it has the same plugs as a s loom for the gauges it has different colour wire and when plugged in doesn't work.
Is there a conversion guide for this ?
Example is all wired in nothing works but if I flick the headlight flash light I get the light on my s clocks light up as well as left indicator light and right side of clocks illuminate

You need to identify what wire does what by looking at both wiring diagrams,
Then it's a case of removing the pins and swapping them into the correct position in the plug, yamaha often used the same plugs, just wired differently!
You can push the pins after you have inserted a thin screwdriver in the front and pressed the tab in
Other than that it's a case of going through all the connections with a multimeter,
Things like the neutral and the oil light tend to be earthed through the switches on the engine, high beam and indicators will be a feed off the switches!

I fitted relays to my 900 headlight and got a much more useful light. This could be a good chance to do the same on the 600. By the way, well done finding a set of 600N clocks. These folks sell automotive electrical components www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/home
