Anyone fancy exploring this area next year? Spurred on by sox500c's solo expedition this year, I thought we could have lunch at Tanhill Inn. and return via Buttertubs Pass. This will involve going deeper into darkest Yorkshire, but I'm assured a translator app is available for both android and apple phones. I'm looking at Sunday 13th July as the target date.

Sounds great, but every time I plan a bike excursion down South something disastrous happens to me.
Actually I've had a few disasters when heading down in the car. Maybe it's the place.

I'm sure that's right - else it would be the person . Surely not. The only exception to disasters happening was Trev's run this year, which he had to cancel and I was raring to go too*. Well that's what he told me anyway. *Gave me more time to plan the JR though so it worked out OK.

Think what Martin is trying to say is, don't feel obliged to come. May be something to do with a fear of FB's getting the top bunk!

I know most of the members here, my absence will not reduce the attendance of FB's by much. In any case I'm not a tight B****** like you, I'll book B&B. That and my snoring would drown out Shoddy's, so safer to sleep elsewhere, I wouldn't want Clive scheming to murder me in the night.

More importantly, don't buy a model that Martin currently owns. It may become a source of spare parts….

If anyone else wishes to avail themselves of the hostel accommodation, I would advise a very early booking. This date is the following weekend to the tour de France commencement in Yorkshire. A number of spectators may well extend their visit and book the hostel. There are a couple of hotels/b&b shown on Google in the same village should more affluent members wish to avail themselves of such accommodation.

We will probably be up for this - our first run! Haven't got next year's diary yet, so don't know what other trips may get in the way, but planning to watch the TdF stages so we should still be about. Won't need accomodation, will probably ride from home to the start on the day (unless we take the campervan with the bike on the trailer - might be an option, particularly if there are plans for socialising of an alcoholic nature). Cheers, Simon and Lynn

I'm up for it if I'm not working that weekend. As I recall there are some decent roads and great scenery around there, and it would be nice to arrive in the same group that I set off with. Hopefully I won't need a push start this time.
