the bike is 23 yrs old but I like it - the airbox plastic has become distorted making it difficult to achieve a good seal, has anybody got an airbox for this earlier model please?

wow! great, want to sell it? Is it is reasonably supple condition? It is the earlier pre diversion type isn't it (different from the diversion one). This is my bike, not in quite such pristine condition now but neverthless, this is the model I'm talking about

The old XJs were good looking bikes. Neil nice to ride too, more sedate than my xj600n divvy (less revy) plus better mpg although, unfortunately, i suppose they do look a bit dated now, graphics and squarish headlight perhaps. I agree though, the more upright cylinders give it a traditional, maybe even old British appearance if I am not letting my imagination run away with me too much
