I went to adjust my chain at lunchtime but when I got my sockets and spanners out, I didn't have one big enough. Does anyone know the size of the rear axle nut so that I can pick one up from Halfords on the way home. Thanks, Phil

One other question. The nut on my axle is not a castle nut. It is just a nut nut if you know what I mean. Should it be a castle nut or did they change this by the time the 2001 600 divvy came out.

(Or 24 if somebody has replaced it with a 'standard' nut.)

I cant get a socket onto my D6 rear axle nut (zorst in the way) so currently use the tool kit ring spanner.

Thanks for the replies guys. I bought a 22mm on the way home and done it as soon as I parked up at home. Still haven't done my oil change though.
One last question - does anyone know what size the nuts are on the divvy 600 centre stand. I tried a 16mm but that is too small. I tried a 17 mm and that seems justa tad too big or perhaps its not or maybe I just can't remember what size I used now that i have just started typing this. Anyway, doea anyone know the size please.
Thanks, Phil

I've got a 19/22 spanner that I've had for about 20 years and it has been used on the rear spindle of just about every bike I've ever owned. As for the centre stand, dunno what size it is, but it will be a standard metric size. If 16mm seems too small, is the nut covered in crud ? try getting it good and clean and then try it again.or just measure it across the flats with big vern.

From memory I think it is 17mm for the nut.Think the bolt is maybe bigger 19mm perhaps.
