Hi all! I've just sold my Vespa and bought a Diversion 900. It's the biggest bike I've owned so far, others include Yamaha Thundercat, Suzuki Gsx750f, The vespa (px125) and I still have a Lambretta Gp thats a bit of an on going project. I bought my xj900 via eBay, its a 95 model, full stainless system. Braided brake lines but feel a bit spongy to me, shaft drive has been stripped, blasted, powder coated and new bearings, bushes and seals put in. Givi luggage top box and side panniers via the wingrack? 2 system. It's supposedly a monokey luggage system but non of the keys match. Bikes done 44k miles. Rides nice. Heated grips. I really like it! oh...its green. Not too sure about the colour yet but for the price I'm not complaining!

Haha I know! I had to sell it because my brother bought a 4 stroke vespa 125 scooter, I couldn't stay with him! The green ones are fastest? Thought I did the 100 mile back home from picking it up in good time...

Good idea Neil ( I'm new to this hard luggage thing). Found a set on ebay for £20, they're in the post. Just need that sunshine back now. Typical really, buy a new bike and it pi$$es it down... I'm also thinking a rear hugger and different screen to reduce the insane wind noise (my helmet might be partially to blame though, cheapish HJC).

I'm also thinking a rear hugger and different screen to reduce the insane wind noise (my helmet might be partially to blame though, cheapish HJC). A superflip is what you want. A number of riders here have them. I had one on my XJ900 and could ride at 100mph (er, on an Autobahn, of course) with the visor up. I am 5'10". I have an XJ600 now and they don't make them or I would get one for that. £43 from www.skidmarx.co.uk/yamaha/20778-yamaha-xj900-diversion-94-super-flip-flip-up-tall-screen.html it says 94 on the link but I believe they are the same. Skidmarx are very helpful if you contact them.

Vespa to Divvy? Slightly similar with me, only my Vespa was a late '40's model made by Douglas in the UK. linky
"Rod" is retro term referring to gear change mechanism - scooter was marketed as just "Vespa 125" The spec was basically that of the Piaggio 1949 model which had just been replaced. The headlight on British production was moved to the leg shields in deference to local lighting regulations. Above from the link, this is the model I had, inherited from an uncle in 1962, the usual story, engine in a box in bits so all laid out on the kitchen table where my old man + uncle, me 16 years old hovering, as it was assembled and repairs made. I got a couple of years out of it before getting into bikes. Enjoy your divvy, it's a great bike. Gordy
