Hi All,
Ok so the Divvy has had an oil leak for a while. It wasn't too bad at first but has got pretty bad now.
At first I thought it stemmed from the engine casing. I also dealt with a few other oilly issues during this leak which kept putting me off the scent such as the oil cooler pipes going, and my fix resulting in an oil pipe coming off whilst doing 90 70mph on the dual carriageway. I did also overfill it so had oil on top of the carbs!
I have finally found, after a lot of gunk cleaning, that the original oil stemmed from either the final drive sprocket seal, or the gear selector. I am almost positive that it is the final drive sprocket as this appeared to be where the oil was originating, due to the height of the splatter under the cover.
Whilst it did remove the necessity of my scott-oiler the amount of oil it is dropping is now far too much.
Does anyone have experience of changing this seal? I've found the seal for £5 but I don't know if it is going to be an epic job or a case of loosening back wheel, removing drive train sprocket and then changing the seal, can anyone weigh in?
Muchas Gracias,
Ross.

I don't actually know (I know somebody will) but hopefully the circlip is on the outside (like a fork seal) so you can remove the sprocket and circlip and pull the seal out? Rowlf

Yeah, no. 15. Thanks for the diagram, my Haynes manual is in one of about 10 boxes as I've just moved!! I'm hoping that thats the case. If its from the other side though......
