engine cover ?

Hi,

I have just purchased a Stainless engine bolt "kit" and while I fit it this weekend I plan on repainting "the highlighted cover" in the pic

1) can someone please inform me what is behind this
2) will I need a new gasket if i remove it to repaint

I know all the other parts I will be replacing bolts on IE clutch cover, generator cover etc but can't seem to find any mention of this cover.

any help would be appreciated also any help/info regarding changing over to stainless bolts

there's nothing of any significance, iirc it doesn't hold oil, there is a bung that covers the end of the crank, it just hides it!

The smart money is on there being, inside the cover, a little tiny man dressed in green and with a red beard. But you'll only see him for a moment and then he's gone.

Reporting back.
There was no leprechaun was hoping there would be as I could do with a pot of gold
there was nothing it is purely a blanking cover for the crank as stated and it is now a shiny gloss black and refitted along with
the stainless M6 bolts
sorry nothing more exciting to report but we do ride divvies and we know they are not meant to be exciting
