Hello, I purchased a new Diversion XJ6F in September 2012. The chain became noisy after 5000 miles and the o-rings started poking out. The dealer replaced chain at cost and it failed after 200 miles. Then Yamaha changed the chain and sprocket under warranty. 5500 miles later the problem has returned but Yamaha have now refused to replace under warranty. I have a scott oiler fitted. Has anyone else had a similar issue. Thanks Attachments:

Mine was failing by 9000 miles and changed at 11,000 miles. The 'new' set has done 10,000 miles without needing any adjustment No, I haven't got a scottoiler, I use halfords chain wax spray and clean the chain once a month.

Did you have the chain replacements out of good will by the dealer until it ran out of warranty? That's usually the deal.

I didn't bother with the dealer, I bought my own for the simple reason that they would have fitted a like for like OEM O ring chain [1] which wouldn't last long so I went for the latest heavy duty X ring with new sprockets. [1] - Assuming they would see a 9000 mile chain as faulty, which I doubt.

Is the chain running too tight when the bike is loaded with rider luggage etc?
Also check the scot oiler oil is compatible with the chain sealing rings.
