1999 XJ600F Diversion Can anyone please advise the best way to adjust the slack on the twistgrip. Is it done at the handlebar end or the carb end? Thanks, Pete 1999 XJ600F Don't you mean a 1989 XJ600F or a 1999 XJ600S ? Anyway, there are two places where the throttle cable is adjusted, at least on the XJ600S although I suspect the older F model is similar.

Having just had my carbs off to replace the inlet rubbers I found the carb end is only approximate (and extremely fiddly). Haynes says to adjust it on the cable near the throttle. Unless it's necessary I'd leave the tank on and see if you get the required play first.

Dont get the cables too tight or the throttle can stick open.

if it's just to remove some free play then at the throttle, if it's a new cable, then at the carbs!
