It was a late decision to attend this weekend but I'm so glad I did. My thanks to Jane and Neil for being excellent hosts and to Deeps & Fi for their backmarking duties. Sorry not to hang around for the return bimble around Lincs. See most of you at JR13 Will post "most" of the photos later

You can tell everyone is knackered from their short posts on this thread, I am also pleasantly knackered! A great weekend put on at late notice by Neil, and what a good one it was. I parked the bike at 4pm today after just short of 600 miles over the last two days. Thank God for Mr Airhawk, especially after Ghandi's revenge 4.30am alarm yesterday morning and left home at 5.20 to meet Martin in Towcester at 6.30. Had deliberated over whether to wear summer gear due to the positive forecasts, and decided against it luckily. Had what can only be describe as a hoon up the M1/A46 with Martin, and used nearly a whole tank of petrol between Towcester and Caenby Corner. Went through some nasty cold fog on the M40 and never managed to warm up, was still shivering when we reached the breakfast stop at Caenby Corner. Thankfully that was the last time I felt cold this weekend Yestedays run was excellent as you would expect from a well planned Yorks run. Was great having my once a year pillion Katie on the back, she's such a good pillion I really did totally forget she was there at times. I found the best way to check she was, was to close the throttle on the TDM that was followed by a clonk of her lid on my back! We had a bit of fun retrieving a couple of stray sheep too Great to see Paul enjoying a pillion ride with his Dad, and Jane flying around the bends on her trusty steed - I swear your brake light wasn't working Jane The model railway stop was a really good idea, real Little Britain stuff there, and good fun riding the train Verde Bobsleigh style Last night was an excellent curry buffet, followed by the fabulous gas lit pub Nellys, where Mac had a fortunate escape from a mega bill and was charged £15 for 9 pints of bitter - bargain ! We then went on to a late opening and very lively bar, where most of us felt old compared to the clientele. Then a pint with the landlady at our digs, and a quick scotch before bed. Met up with Trev this morning and had an excellent run down to Newark, thanks Trev, I really did enjoy that left, right, left, right ....... Nice to meet with Max and Chele and Newark and then go on to Deep's local for a cold drink before heading off. Was great to see all the usual suspects and some people I hadn't seen for a while, and to meet some new people including Matt (Deep's son), George (Tomcat) and Libby. Thanks as always to my travelling companion and roomy Martin, sorry for getting you up to open the door that wasn't actually locked last night very early this morning! All in all a cracking weekend, thanks again Neil and everyone that made it so good. Dave

4.00 pm home? You got home before I did ! Was desperately disappointed to miss the Sunday show and the nightlife , but at least todays blast answered a few questions for me. Great hoon to Newark around a few twisties, nice lunch stop shown to us by Deeps, nice to 'surprise' Chele too Leisurely(ish), ride back again to the Humber Bridge with Neil, and got to try the Guzzi again Thanks for your company today lads and lasses, was a real pick me up and now can't wait for JR, bring it on

I got home today at about 4 ish too thanks to Trev for the most pleasant company back and ride on his D9 - it's true that you forget what good bikes they are over time.... and thanks to Matt for company on the Guzzi today allowing Deeps to have a bit of a play solo. A nice last minute improvised run in lovely sunshine. Was great to see such a large turnout yesterday for such a short notice run, to see some new faces as well as the usual suspects ;D Yes, it was a bit more of a leisurely paced run than normal, but with the expected rippled tarmac and gravel alongside the twisty stuff. Just a bit unfortunate that we kept meeting up with slow moving Bank Holiday traffic at times....I was hoping we'd be well away from most of it, but we didn't do too bad really. Cracking cup of tea at the Ryedale Society of Model Engineers, what a lovely, welcoming bunch of folk they were. If you're ever in the area on a Sunday needing a brew before 4.30pm - drop in, they'll be pleased to see you. The evening meal was great, nice of Craig and Libby to leave the bike at home, jump in the car and drive over to Beverley(again). With Ian and Mac both finding places to stay joining the table, ensured much merriment before we even reached the pub! Cheers Dave for hosting Kate all day - she was exhausted by the end of it but loved it. Amazed to find out what significant event you missed to be able to attend Brian (Spike240) and George (Tomcat) great to see you that morning too and sorry Roger (Billywhizz) couldn't make it through for once. Amazed how Speighty managed the Busa on some of those roads - shame it wasn't the quicker Yorkshire Run for you and your Bro - but great that you were both able to make it too. Yep it was cobbled together at short notice but you can rely upon folks here to help make it a success and I mean that sincerely because whenever there's a problem, someone is always helpfully sorting it out so that the business of getting from A-B can continue. Thank you one and all for making the effort to come, but most of all for making it a great event. My favourite pic taken by Deep's son (Matt) ;D The grins say it all.

Thoroughly enjoyed it Rodney, much appreciated that you pulled off a short notice takeover. Tris wasnt sure if he'd have the CBR sorted by then and i dont think the R1 was his natural choice Good job cos it would have vibrated his old bones terribly. His R1 feels more uncomfortable than mine was (maybe im just getting too old for sports bikes), it's also got a lot more torque than mine did. His feels like a Fazer1000 torque wise. Saying that it was the perfect mix of roads for a try out of his blade, and he got home with a smile on his face as Tris, Bob and Greeny kept disappearing off up the road .... Bob's certainly getting the hang of his scooter now ... Good that he has no major issues with it on a lovely set of roads Even got a ride on it myself and it is rather nice !! Tbh the Busa is just plain easy to ride, I encourage anyone to try one out, surprised no-ones asked ;D ;D. Its got awesome amounts of grunt and is very very nimble, even at low speeds. It is erm ridiculously fast, and often people misjudge how fast Im really going because she accelerates sooooo fast. But i was having a blast just bimbling along, got to have a good look around having not been up that way before.... Castle Howard and Dalby Forest where lovely and quite deserted traffic wise....

Libby and I had a cracking day out, she certainly felt most welcome amongst you all, thank you. It was nice to see the 'old' faces again, yes I know it's been a while :-) I enjoyed the roads as always but my whiplash injuries became quite painful after the railway stop so a steady pootle was called for. Cheers Neil for yet another excellent run, we'll try to join you all again a little sooner next time :-)
