Hello Everyone, I have an XJ 600 and ports 2 and 3 of the down pipes are joined by a short pipe, My mate thinks this is a restricter and says I should remove it. I have looked though pictures and can not see another 600 with the joined down pipes, does anyone know what it is and should I remove it ?

It's just a supporting brace, looking at a pic of your bike it has an afetr market exhaust system on it, 4 into 1. Restriction there would be pointless anyway. |

Check the 2:1 collectors for rust. Unlike the stainless downpipes, they are ordinary mild steel. If they are rusting get some stainless collectors made before the old ones are too far gone to be used as patterns.
