I wondered what tyres and pressures you are running on your XJ600 and any experiences trying other pressures and what happened
A query came up in a post I made and would like some feedback on your experience please.
Yamaha state 29 front 36 rear (over 90kg or high speed) Most manufacturers websites I checked on say follow the bike manufacturers recommendations.
The exception to this is Avon for their Roadrider AM26 which is 33/40. I have since found (thanks to pol) the Bridgestone BT45 is is 36/41
Thanks
Rowlf

With both my D6's I ran 36/40. That was with Bridgestone BT45's. I was happy with the ride, grip & wear patterns (IE, no unusual side or middle excessive wearing, no 'letting go' unexpectedly in the twisties). My riding style was probably more towards 'aggressive' than 'genteel'. Unlike now, I'm a good boy these days . HTH.

As said, I run 36/42, with a little bit less on some occasions. Mainly when I want a play. If I ran 29/36 I'd probably end up in a ditch

Quite sure, why are you unsure whether I'm sure ? On the D6 I used to keep them at 34/38 Most other bikes I set at 36/42 You sure ? (On the Fazer at the mo' I'm running 36/40, on the D9, it's the same, on the TRX, etc, etc . (Can't say for the XS1100E at the moment ). Works for me.

What I am sure about is that your not sure wether your sure or not! I can confirm that a 2008 fazer FZ1, steers strangely on 22/26

What I am sure about is that your not sure wether your sure or not! I assure you, I'm sure . I can confirm that a 2008 fazer FZ1, steers strangely on 22/26 I can also state most assuredly that a CX500 with about 8psi in the front also 'wanders' a bit .

With a bit of help and some perseverance I have got the following. I have e-mailed Michelin so hope to get details soon for the PilotActiv
The following is taken from tyre manufacturers websites March 2013 Avon recommend 2.3 front 2.8 bar rear for the Roadrider AM26 Bridgestone recommend 2.5 front 2.8 rear for the Battlax BT45 Continental recommend 2.3 front 2.8 rear for the ContiGo Metzeler recommend 2.3 front 2.8 rear for the Lasertec Note 2.3 bar equals 33.3 psi / 230 kpa 2.5 bar equals 36.2 psi / 250 kpa 2.8 bar equals 40.6 psi / 280 kpa
I think that is the all the common tyre choices?
