There have been a few threads recently about using trailers, and I thought it might be useful to mention this company from which I recently hired a trailer.
The trailer I hired was a car transporter, which I used to collect an old Range Rover which I bought on e-bay and needed to move from Kent to Worcester.
The company is small - a fleet of about 10 hire trailers (plus one 4x4 tow vehicle for hire) and seems to be run from the owner's home. I saw two bike trailers whilst I was there.
The thing that struck me most about them was how helpful they were. I arranged to collect the trailer about 7.00pm on Friday evening (when the previous hirer returned it) and should have retuned it at 7 - 8.00pm on the Saturday. In fact I didn't get home until 10.00pm, and returned the trailer around 9.30am on Sunday.
They charged me £10.00 for the late return, and I suspect that they would not have charged anything if I hadn't asked how much the charge would be. I paid £50 hire + £8 insurance +£200 deposit by card when I collected the bike, and had an e-mail confirming refund of the deposit (less £10 late return charge) before I got home. I had the larger of their two car transporters, but they charged the rate for the smaller one (which would have been enough to move a Range Rover but was already booked).
The trailer was in good repair. The only faults we found were that one of the lugs which hold the ramp up had been bent by a previous hirer, and the corner post on one side of the ramp had lost its retaining pin. Neither of those affected our use of the trailer at all.
All in all, I was very happy with the service provided, and so would recommend that anyone seeking to hire a trailer contact them. I have no connection with them other than this one hire.
